The Great British Spring Clean (3-5 March) is our biggest-ever litter campaign and we are looking for Eco-Schools litter heroes to help clean up our country.
If you haven't already, please register at www.greatbritishspringclean.org.uk - it takes less than a minute. The first 2,500 schools to register will receive a free roll of Great British Spring Clean rubbish sacks. You will also be able to download all the resources you need to plan and promote your spring clean.
As part of the campaign we are running two competitions for schools - an art competition for primary schools and a photography competition for secondary schools.
Not all super heroes wear capes.
Our litter heroes are one man and his dog – Wayne and Koda. This intrepid duo are walking the whole coastline of Britain, picking up litter the entire way.
To celebrate them, and help raise awareness of our Great British Spring Clean, Eco-Schools is running an art competition.
Your mission is to create ‘super hero’ cartoon characters of Wayne and Koda battling the evil genius, Lord Litter, who is trying to take over the country with his untidiness.
Don’t delay: pick up your pens, pencils and paints and let’s battle litter with Wayne and Koda.
The 12 winning cartoons will be picked by Wayne (with a little help from Koda) and transformed into an academic calendar that will be available to buy across the country.

To support the campaign, we are also running a photography competition to highlight the impact of litter in and around school grounds. The competition is open to students from Year 7 to Year 12.
The competition will be judged by wildlife photographer, TV presenter and Keep Britain Tidy Ambassador Chris Packham and there are two Canon Digital SLR cameras and starter packs up for graps - so get snapping!
